My Wedding Dress Inspirations

As you all know, we had a lovely beach wedding last February. Read all about it here.

So I was asking myself, what if we decided to have a different wedding instead of the beach? Maybe the church or garden? Or even the simple civil? I do have a couple of photos of wedding dresses bookmarked that I want to share. Some of these are even way before my hubby proposed, but remained timeless and hot today. I was just saving anything I came across and loved, thinking it may come in handy in the future. I guess now's the time!

My style tend to lean towards the more unusual designs, or styles not often seen. Sexy designs are more in my alley. So if you have the same taste that I have, this post might help you.

Ideal for Beach Weddings

Love the pattern! Changing the pattern would have changed the overall look of the dress entirely.

Light tulle are really comfortable and adds perfect drama with the wind.

Ideal for Church Weddings

(Kindly check with your churches on dress code as some have stricter guidelines than others.)

Just one look at this gown made me feel so regal. Almost enough for a royal. It's simple yet very dramatic in its own way.

This gown is modern, edgy, classic and elegant all at the same time. It also has those pockets to die for! Even with changing the color to classic ivory or white, it still looks fab.

To make this a full-fledged wedding gown, just changing the colors is the key. Change the black lining ribbons to white, change to whiter or ivory fabric and viola! You got yourself a dainty, dreamy feminine gown.

This one caught my eye as it resembles closely to a suit. It's very sharp and formal that the bride would definitely look smart, polished and impactful. If the groom has an equally powerful suit, you would be the power couple! Maybe lower the thigh slit so it can pass in the church? (wink)

Yes, I'm a sucker for ethereal and dreamy gowns, and this one's one of them. If you don't like the pink, just make it all white or ivory and you'd still look like an angel in clouds.

Ideal for Garden Weddings

Church styles can also be for garden, and vise-versa. Just take care of the bottom of your gown as you walk through the grass.

It's the neckline and the sleeves that attracted me to this gown. It made such a statement, and very flattering! The design itself almost looks like dressing a dainty bride fairy in the forest.

The sexy deep-V neckline, sheer lace sleeves and light silky fabric mixed together so well in this gown that everything looks balanced. Not too exposed, yet not too demure. It's a fusion of both the classic silhouette and the modern twist.

Another statement piece for the modern bride. The pleated fan-like neckline is just divine! The dress speaks art. You will definitely be a head turner during your big day.

Ideal for Civil Weddings

Civil weddings are often viewed to be simple, but feel free to wear whatever you like as there are no rules stating you should downplay it. But what I'm featuring here are more simple options but still fashionable.

This is a type of gown that can go from Emmy's red carpet straight to the red carpet down the aisle. It's simple enough for civil but still fashionable with a little bit of skin. If you did not notice by now, dresses with statement are also my thing!

This one's sexy-elegant in a classic silhouette. There's something about the neckline that caught my attention and how neat the design is. It's a design that's borderline usual, but the subtle texture made it ironically stand out.

Finally, these are some of the dresses I came upon Shopee that are good for civil weddings. Ruffles and big bows never fail to make a statement. Other colors in these styles also prove to be a fashion forward dress good enough to attend other events.

Bonus: MOH & Bridesmaids

If you have the budget and you want to steer away from the usual infinity dresses and plain gowns, you can upgrade the look of your girls with these asymmetrical styles and statement sleeves. Just make sure their gowns will not trample yours!

As you can see, I'm not the princess, ball-gown type of girl. But if that's what you're looking for, I can still help you research for unique and different styles.
