Getting to Know The Top 3 Famous Wedding Ceremony Venues

Planning a wedding almost always starts with the theme besides the budget. It is from deciding a theme where the dream wedding of marrying couples heavily relies. One of the things that greatly affect the outcome of a wedding and the adherence to the theme is how the wedding ceremony is being held. Below are the top favorites of our brides and grooms over the years and up until today, with the following pros and cons of each.

1. Church

Most of us would like our marriage to be blessed in the presence of God and to be officiated by a priest, and our beautiful churches are the best venues to do so. Some churches are especially magnificent that you don't really need much styling to have a whimsical ceremony.

Pros:

  • Getting hitched in the most traditional but timeless and holiest way

  • If you're Catholic, then you have done the ceremony rites in accordance with your religion

  • Churches have their own appeal of beauty and divinity unlike any other

Cons:

  • Time slots rapidly run out and are very strict and limited. Early booking is a must.

  • Punctuality is of importance as churches are known to have consecutive ceremonies in a day.

  • Some churches have their own rules and restrictions on how the ceremony is run (i.e. no custom vows allowed), dress code (i.e. no off shoulder gowns or backless), and use of petals or any materials that can cause litter upon your post-ceremony exit

  • Some churches are strict with religion of both couples. If one of you are not Catholic, he/she might have to convert and undergo the rites to become one before you are allowed to get married in the church.

  • Most churches do not have spaces for reception, so a separate venue for reception is needed. This would only be challenging if both venues are far from each other.

2. Garden

Oh, the beauty of greenery! Getting hitched in the center of nature is truly something else. It's not just the fresh plants and colorful fragrant flowers, but the sounds of birds, and possibly butterflies flying around undeniably adds charm to a garden wedding. No wonder it's also the most popular choice especially to the younger generation.

Pros:

  • The best advantage of working with nature? Minimal styling is needed as nature's already beautiful as it is.

  • Most garden venues already have joint spaces for reception, so you'll be holding both segments of your event all in one place.

  • When you book a venue, it's most likely to be yours for the whole duration of the day, so you will have more control over the timeline and how your event will run.

Cons:

  • Weather! The number one enemy of outdoor events. Without plan B, your ceremony will be doomed.

  • Even with no rain, if the grasses are still wet, you would still need to change venues as the area would be too muddy for you and the guests to walk around on. Mud would stick to shoes and the ends of your gown.

  • Some garden venues almost veer towards being a forest or mountain one, and if you or your guests are quite sensitive to various insects and bugs flying around, you might have to think twice or resort to a less forest-y setup.

3. Beach

Another art of nature, is the beauty and sound of the seas and the oceans. Nothing best provide that but the beaches, especially in our beloved Philippines where we have several beautiful beaches scattered all over. Might as well maximize this beauty we have and incorporate it in our dream wedding!

Pros:

Most pros are much like garden venues:

  • The beaches have their own natural beauty that provides gorgeous backdrops on ceremonies. If you're scrimping on budget, minimal styling is more than enough!

  • Beach venues also have joint spaces for reception to hold everything in just one place

  • You also get full control of how your event would flow as most venues would have accommodated you for the whole day.

  • You and your guests would be in "vacation" vibes or spirits. Most beaches tend to influence people to be in their vacation state, so expect your ceremony and reception to be really chill and merry!

  • A plus: if you want a truly beach-like experience, you can hire fire dancers to entertain your guests.

Cons:

  • Again, as with outdoor venues, weather is the number one unpredictable enemy. Rains would be stronger as you are located beside the sea.

  • Strong winds are expected for beaches. So necessary adjustment on attires and decorations are necessary to avoid accidents.

  • Some beach venues are quite far from you and your guests' neighborhood. This might discourage others from attending due to long drive and without availing nearby accommodation.
